EVENTS 
NASAM PENANG’S 10^th ANNIV. DINNER– 10 April, 2007 
NASAM PJ and NASAM Ampang are organizing a 3-day, 2-night trip to Penang to support NASAM Penang’s 10^th Anniversary dinner at the E&O Hotel. Included in the itinerary are sightseeing and food tasting trips. Those interested please sign up by 16 March.  Details are on the notice boards. 

 
MIKE’S OTAK OTAK RAISED 
FUNDS FOR TRIP 
Once again, stroke survivor Mike Tay’s talent in the kitchen has helped raised spirits. The proceeds, almost RM150, from sale of his delicious otak otak will go towards the hire of a coach for the trip to Penang. A BIG THANK YOU to our own Jamie Oliver. Well done! 

 
GUARDIAN CHARITY WALK 
For the third year running, Guardian Pharmacy is organizing a Charity Walkathon in aid of NASAM at the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park at 8am on Saturday, 17 March. Transport will be provided for those interested to join the walk. There will be a special route for stroke survivors. Participants will be given breakfast, T-shirt and gifts from sponsors. Please register ASAP. 

 
FUNDRAISING 
Do Good Look Good vouchers  are now available. Alex Lim of La Mode Coiffure, Mid Valley Mega Mall has once again offered his hairdressing services to help raise funds for NASAM P.J. His clients include Amber Chia, Ning Baidura and several other beautiful people. If you want to be treated like a star get a DGLG voucher for only RM70. Normal fee is RM150 for a wash, cut and blow dry.  

 
CHARITY CAR WASH 
NASAM Ampang has tied up with their neighbour, CB Autoria, to raise funds via a charity car wash promotion. Vouchers at RM15 each will entitle purchasers a snow wash, vacuum and tyre shine for saloon cars. Vouchers available from week of 12 March. Promotion is valid until June 2007. 

 
STROKE AWARENESS 
STROKE FORUMS FOR THE EAST COAST 
For the first time in its 12-year history NASAM is taking its Stroke Awareness Campaign to the East Coast. Forums on Stroke Prevention and free health checks will be held in Kota Bharu (29 March), Kuala Terengganu (30^th March) and Kuantan (8^th April). 

 
TALK ON SPEECH THERAPY 
Speech Therapist Cecilia gave a talk on her work with stroke survivors’ with speech and language problems to the Rotary Club of Ampang. Sadly, this aspect of the effect of stroke is rarely highlighted in Malaysia. The talk generated a lot of interest and we hope the club will support the program.
