NASAM AMPANG’s “HI-5 FOR LIFE” ANNIVERSARY DINNER

YES! The long-awaited NASAM Ampang “Hi-5 for Life” fundraising anniversary dinner is taking place tomorrow at 8pm at the Mei Keng Fatt Seafood Restaurant in Kuala Ampang. A final full dress rehearsal was held on 22 May 2008 and anticipation is running high, so make sure you don’t miss out on this memorable evening.

All tables are SOLD OUT!! A big THANK YOU to all generous donors and supporters of NASAM Ampang. Watch this space for news of the dinner next week.

PJ STROKEES’ WALK IN THE PARK

Volunteers ferried NASAM PJ strokees to the Bukit Kiara Park in Taman Tun Dr Ismail on the morning of 23 May 2008 for an invigorating morning walk. As they exercised in the beautiful park, the strokees took in the scenic sights and sounds as well.

Thank you to the volunteers concerned.

COOKING SESSSIONS

On 21 May 2008, volunteers Jacqui & her sister Lin coordinated the cooking of chicken croquette for a second time, by popular demand.

A nett profit of RM23 was raised for the kitchen fund. Thanks Jacqui & Lin.

VISIT BY NURSES

About 40 nurses from the Assunta Nursing College visited NASAM PJ on 21 May 2008 and 22 May 2008 to see for themselves how NASAM carries out rehab therapy for strokees.

Physiotherapist Sujan explained NASAM’s therapy programmes to the students, stressing on early intervention for newly stroked patients.

VOLUNTEERS’ APPRECIATION DAY

NASAM PJ strokees are arranging a pot luck get-together for all volunteers on 28 May 2008. This is the day where strokees show and express their appreciation to the volunteers who have so caringly attended to them, both physically and emotionally.

All volunteers are invited to be present on this Volunteers’ Appreciation Day.

WORLD STROKE CONGRESS

The World Stroke Congress, organized by the World Stroke Organisation, will be taking place in Vienna in September 2008.

NASAM Founder Chairman, Janet Yeo, will be making a presentation on NASAM at the Congress. A video show on NASAM activities will be shown. Janet will be accompanied by Rehab Coordinator, Tracy Chan and Margaret Chang, NASAM Manager.

A film crew will has been scheduled to go to NASAM Penang and NASAM JB to shoot strokees’ activities. We apologise that the schedule organized for end May has to be postponed till June 2008

ABDULLA

Please be informed that Abdulla, the physiotherapist from India who was based at NASAM PJ, has resigned from NASAM.
