WEEKLY TALKS BY MEDICAL OFFICER AT NASAM PENANG
Dr Edward Nathan, a Preventive Medicine Specialist, will be giving weekly talks at NASAM Penang from 24 April 2008. He will also attend to each strokee for 15 minutes on any medical problems related to stroke.

This value-added service was arranged by Ms Chan Hong Ee, Chairman of NASAM Penang. Talks to staff and volunteers are also in the pipeline once all the strokees have been attended to. Thank you, Hong Ee, for enhancing NASAM Penang’s services.

UPDATE ON NASAM AMPANG’s FUNDRAISING DINNER
Tables for NASAM Ampang’s 5th Anniversary dinner are slowly but surely being taken up. With our target of selling 70 tables, have you done your part yet for the “Hi-5 for Life” fundraising dinner on 24 May 2008?

GUARDIAN CHARITY WALK
The Guardian Charity Walk is back!

Strokees, carers, volunteers and staff are encouraged to attend as the walk is in aid of NASAM. Check out the notice boards at NASAM PJ and Ampang.

NASAM’s 12th AGM
The 12th Annual General Meeting of NASAM will be held at 4pm on 26 April 2008 at NASAM PJ.

All NASAM members are invited to the AGM.

NASAM JB’s MOVE
With renovation works almost complete, NASAM JB is all set to move by month’s end. NASAM JB’s new address is 59 Jln Cendera, Serene Park, 80300 Johor Bahru.

STEAMED “WOON CHAI KO”
This week’s cooking session on 16 April 2008 at NASAM PJ was conducted in the afternoon by volunteer cum Board member, Katherine Lam. Practically all the strokees of session 3 had a hand in stirring the mixture for steaming.

Sold at RM1 per bowl, the “woon chai ko” was served with toppings of fried preserved radish.

Earlier in the day, the morning strokees were seen pounding and crushing bread into crumbs in preparation for next week’s cooking session.
