12 Dec 2008NASAM JB’s FUNDRAISER20 March 2009 marks the day of NASAM JB’s inaugural fundraising dinner at the Grand Straits Restaurant at Danga Bay, Johor Bahru. There will be a halal 8-course Chinese dinner and entertainment programmes. NASAM clubs are encouraged to show their support by organizing an outing to JB for their strokees. INTERVIEW BY SIN CHEW JIT POHA journalist from Sin Chew Jit Poh, together with her photographer, came by NASAM PJ on 15 December 2008 to interview Janet Yeo, Founder Chairman, and to learn more about the work done at NASAM from Margaret Chang and Tracy Chan. Mike Tay and Lilian Lim, both strokees turned volunteers, were also interviewed as well as Mr Chin, a carer turned volunteer. Watch out for the article in Sin Chew soon. OUTING TO KLIAA busload of strokees, carers and volunteers visited KLIA in Sepang on 15 December 2008. They were treated to refreshments, shown a video clip on KLIA and taken on a tour of the premises. At the viewing gallery, they watched aeroplanes take off and land. Each visitor also received a souvenir water tumbler from Malaysia Airports Berhad. WHAT’S COOKING?The tempting aroma of assam laksa that wafted through NASAM PJ must be the reason behind its sell-out on 10 December 2008. Strokee volunteer Lilian Lim, assisted by strokee volunteer Mike Tay and volunteer Lin, organized the cooking by involving the strokees in peeling, slicing and cutting the ingredients. Sales was a whopping 100% over costs! Many thanks to the volunteers, especially Lilian, who cooked the soup. CHRISTMAS MAKAN-MAKANMore than 20 strokees and carers joined the Bible Study group next door to NASAM PJ for a Christmas party on 12 December 2008. NASAM Ampang organized a sit-down lunch on 16 December 2008. Volunteers multi-tasked by serving the food, singing and generally providing the entertainment for the festive occasion. There was much cheer and joy all round as everyone enjoyed themselves. Carollers & Santa Claus livened the mood at NASAM PJ’s Christmas party on 19 December 2008. There was food galore & gifts exchange. WISHING ALL STROKEES, NASAM FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS ……..“A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS
