A Weekend of Colour, Joy and Community Across Malaysia
Malaysia lit up in colour on 25 and 26 October as NASAM’s Colour Walk 2025 brought together survivors, caregivers, families and supporters for a joyful nationwide celebration. Held in conjunction with World Stroke Day, the event united all six NASAM centres in a weekend filled with smiles, movement and meaningful moments that reminded everyone that YES — There is Life After Stroke.
From confetti bursts, colour powder trails, treasure hunts and cheerful picnics, each centre added its own creativity to the celebration. NASAM Kuantan kicked off the festivities with a lively Mega Picnic at Sports Complex @ TAR UMT, complete with a Colour War Zone and welcoming family picnic areas that turned the field into a warm, happy gathering. NASAM Sabah followed with its colourful Treasure Hunt Walk 2.0 at Tasik Pavilion, Kota Kinabalu — a fun blend of teamwork, colourful clues and joyful surprises along the trail.
On Sunday, Kuala Lumpur saw participants from NASAM PJ & Ampang fill Bukit Jalil Recreational Park with ribbons and colour, NASAM Johor enjoyed a confetti-filled walk and aerobic session at TMIYC (Tunku Mahkota Ismail Youth Center) and NASAM Perak added a splash of colour powder at Sultan Abdul Aziz Recreation Park, Ipoh.
Across every centre, children played, families encouraged one another and survivors walked with pride — a powerful reminder that recovery is shared through community, connection and hope. The walk also amplified an important message: stroke is preventable, treatable and Every Minute Counts when recognising the signs and acting B.E.F.A.S.T.
These celebrations were made possible thanks to the dedication of volunteers who supported each location, ensuring safe and smooth activities. A special thank you to BIG Pharmacy for sponsoring the event T-shirts and to all other centre sponsors who contributed prizes, supplies and colourful elements across Malaysia. Your generosity strengthens NASAM’s mission in spreading stroke awareness and empowering survivors.
Colour Walk 2025 was not just about walking — it was about coming together, celebrating resilience and embracing recovery in full colour. With confetti floating through parks, bubbles sparkling in the air, colour powder bursts and ribbons trailing behind each step, the weekend was a joyful reminder that recovery can be bright, colourful and full of hope.
