NASAM Kuantan Stroke Camp 2025: Retreat & Refresh Mega View Hotel, Kuantan
August 02-03, 2025 (Saturday & Sunday)

More than 50 stroke survivors and caregivers came together for NASAM Kuantan’s first-ever 2-day, 1-night Stroke Rehabilitation Camp — filled with expert-led sessions, heartfelt sharing and deep connection. With the support of over 30 volunteers, medical professionals and generous partners, the event became a powerful reminder: stroke recovery is not a journey walked alone.
Speech therapist, occupational therapist, dietitians/nutritionists, nurses and counsellors all played a part. From therapy activities to bonding games, it was more than just a camp — it was a lifeline.
As shared by the NASAM Kuantan physiotherapy team:
“Someone asked how we dared to dream of this camp. The truth is, the idea came like a spark. And then we just did it — writing letters, calling for support, planning every detail and showing up for our stroke community.”
One survivor said:
“I didn’t think I could smile again. But here, I found hope.”
YB Chan Chun Kuang, ADUN Semambu, who officiated the closing ceremony, reminded us all:
“Stroke doesn’t just affect the patient. It touches entire families — emotionally, physically and financially. That’s why partnerships between government, hospitals, NGOs like NASAM and the community are crucial.”
Whether you’re a survivor, caregiver, therapist or volunteer — this camp showed what happens when compassion meets action. It may not make stroke disappear, but it makes the road less lonely.
